We have
learnt that the simplest
structure of living things is a cell. Look at to the Figure 1. A group of same
cell that have similar structure and function together makes up tissue (Do you
still remember, what the tissue is. You can check the video about tissue below).
Tissues (more than one tissue) work together to perform a specific function as
an organ.
Figure 1. What is organ
For example, look at the Figure 2.
What is this? Yes, this is skin. Skin is an organ. How do we know? Because skin is composed by tissues. Can you describe, what kinds of
tissues are they?
Figure 2. Skin is organ
These tissues (epidermis tissue,
connective tisssue, nervous tissue and muscle tissue) makes up skin. So, what
is the specific function they do? Skin function is protect the outermost part
of body.
Okey,
another example. Look at the Figure 3.
What is this? Yes, this is Bone. Bone is an organ. How do we know? Because Bone is composed by tissues. Can you describe, what kinds of
tissues are they?
Figure 3. Bone is organ
These tissues (connective tisssues)
makes up bone. So, what is the specific function they do? Bone function is support
the body movement.
So, what do you think about the figure below. Are they organs?
